International condemnation rises: The closure of Darfur's borders by Burhan's army threatens the lives of millions

Since the onset of the war in Sudan 10 months ago, which erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the "Rapid Support Forces," the vast region in western Sudan has been suffering from a humanitarian tragedy worsening day by day. This area is one of the most severely affected places in Sudan, where its inhabitants suffer from poverty, deprivation, and persecution.

The authorities aligned with the Sudanese army, known as the Rapid Support Forces, have prohibited the entry of humanitarian aid across the borders into Darfur, sparking a wave of international criticism led by the United States, relief organizations, and the United Nations. This oppressive move reflects the ruling authorities' disregard for the humanitarian suffering in the region and signifies the continuation of repressive measures and restrictions on the distribution of humanitarian aid.

Amidst this challenging situation, millions in Darfur are living in dire conditions, suffering from food shortages and malnutrition, leading to deaths among children and infants. Due to these restrictions on aid entry, the humanitarian crisis is escalating further, threatening the lives of millions and exposing them to the risks of hunger and death.

The United States has strongly criticized this decision, expressing deep concern about the humanitarian situation in Darfur and the necessity of providing humanitarian aid to those in need. It is important for the international community to shoulder its responsibility in addressing this crisis and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to the needy population in Darfur without obstacles or restrictions.

Immediate diplomatic intervention is essential to resolve this situation and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the affected areas in Darfur. Failure to act swiftly may endanger the lives of millions and exacerbate their suffering. The crisis in Darfur is not just a humanitarian crisis but also a crisis concerning fundamental human rights, which the international community must address with utmost seriousness and determination.
