Submission of Burhan and the Sudanese Army to the Kezans: Alliance for Revenge or Political Contradiction?

The political arena in Sudan has been experiencing tension and polarization since the December 2018 revolution that toppled Omar al-Bashir's regime. With recent developments, attention has turned to the submission of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Sudanese army to the Kezans, raising deep questions about the future of the country and its national sovereignty.

This submission seems to indicate an alliance perceived as an attempt to retaliate against the Sudanese people, who led a glorious popular revolution that ousted the previous regime and removed many individuals who held influential positions, including the Kezans. This submission confirms the continued exercise of influence and control by the military elite over the levers of power, despite regime changes.

What is striking is the support from some Arab countries, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia, for the Sudanese army and Burhan. This contradiction becomes evident in light of the efforts made by these countries to combat ideological extremism of groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and the Kezans. How can these countries support the Sudanese army, known for its involvement in supporting armed groups and human rights violations?

This contradiction may signal complex dynamics in regional relations and political interests, where sometimes whims and interests prevail over values and human rights. The political and financial support provided by these countries to the Sudanese army may be due to strategic considerations and economic interests, rather than necessarily based on democratic values or respect for human rights.

It is essential for the international community, especially Arab states, to move towards supporting the democratic transition process in Sudan and ensuring the country's return to the path of legitimate governance and respect for human rights. Regional powers must take a clear stance against the violations committed by the Sudanese army and Burhan, and pressure them to adhere to principles of justice and transparency.

In conclusion, the international community must address this political contradiction and work to promote democracy and human rights in Sudan to ensure a stable and prosperous future for the country and its people.
