Three planes carrying medical and food equipment from the Emirates for the relief of the Sudanese people

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) sent three aid planes to support the Sudanese people, carrying more than 115 tons of medical and food
supplies, according to the state news agency WAM on Monday.  WAM reported that two planes arrived at Port Sudan Airport, carrying 100 tons of urgent medical supplies, equipment, and basic medicines for emergency treatment of injuries and surgeries.
The medical supplies include a wide range of drugs used to treat injuries and emergencies such as antibiotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-inflammatory agents, medical wound dressings, surgical tapes, and endoscopy kits.
The third plane, heading to Chad, carried 15 tons of food supplies, aiming to provide urgent support to Sudanese refugees affected by the current situation in Sudan, which has led to the displacement of
thousands of families and a shortage of essential food supplies.  Sultan Al-Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs, said that sending these medical and relief supplies comes under the wise leadership's directives and its continuous efforts to provide support to the Sudanese people.
Al-Shamsi added that the UAE's air bridge of food and medical aid is a continuation of the country's humanitarian approach to extending a helping hand to countries in need and contributing to alleviating the human consequences facing the Sudanese people due to the current crisis. The UAE prioritizes the most vulnerable groups, such as patients, children, the elderly, and women.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE was among the first countries to send direct aid to Sudan as part of its continuous efforts to provide support to the Sudanese people.
It has provided more than 240 tons of medical and food supplies, in addition to evacuating 744 foreign nationals, diplomats, and their families, as well as dozens of humanitarian cases, and transporting them from Sudan to the UAE.
